Why mesh, not foam.

Foam is soft, so we don't use it. Every gap is closed with galvanized steel mesh, putty and concrete.

The CDC notes that a mouse can fit through a hole the width of a pencil, about 1/4 inch, so we seal the small gaps too, not only the big ones.

Questions, answered.

Is outside sealing a separate job?

No. Outside openings are sealed as part of the same job as the inside work, on one written quote.

Do you do roof work?

No. We close openings with galvanized steel mesh, putty and concrete. We don't repair roofs or replace roof vents, turbines or dryer vents.

Do you use foam?

Never. We use galvanized steel mesh, putty and concrete.

How long does it take?

Outside sealing is part of rodent proofing: up to half a day when no insulation needs replacing, and a one-day job with insulation replacement.

Which openings do you seal?

Foundation and wall vents, roof vent openings, eaves, roof gaps, and gaps around pipes and wires.

What does the mesh look like on a vent?

The galvanized steel mesh covers the vent like a screen.

Do you seal the garage too?

Yes. Gaps into the garage are sealed as part of the same job, on the same written quote.

How do you protect my home on job day?

The crew covers the path from your front door to the work areas with drop cloths or plastic sheeting: the floors, and some walls where needed. Old material and debris go out with us.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. AttiCali EcoShield is licensed, insured and bonded. California contractor license #1149346 (C-2 Insulation, C-20 HVAC).

Do I need to be home on the job day?

Yes, please be home. It also helps to clear the path to the work areas of breakable items, like pictures and vases.
